Global Near Space Services Named Sponsor of The Green Flight Project
DENVER, Colorado – July 23, 2010 – Bye Energy, Inc., an integrator of alternative energy technologies for business and general aviation aircraft, has added Global Near Space Services (www.GlobalNearSpace.com) as a sponsor of The Green Flight Project (www.TheGreenFlightProject.aero).
John Hawley, the Chairman and CEO of Global Near Space Services (GNSS), said, “Bye Energy is doing for the aviation industry what the hybrid car is doing for the automotive industry…providing very efficient transportation through the use of alternative energies, while protecting our environment. We are very proud to support Bye’s efforts in moving the country forward in energy independence.”
George Bye, CEO of Bye Energy, welcomed Global Near Space Services to the project. “GNSS is a very progressive company that is incorporating alternative energy sources with unmanned aerospace systems,” he said. “Although they are utilizing a different platform at a higher altitude, both our companies are working collaboratively to bring clean energy to the aerospace industry. We are extremely grateful for their generous support.”
The Green Flight Project, which launched in mid-February, is intended to enhance the development of an electric and electric-hybrid propulsion system (EHPS) for commercial application. The initial objective of the project is to design and integrate a proof of concept electric propulsion system into an existing, proven Cessna 172 airframe.
