Bye Energy, Inc.’s Debra Wilcox Accepted
to NREL Executive Energy Leadership Program
DENVER, Colorado – June 1, 2009 – Bye Energy, Inc. announced that Debra Wilcox, Vice President and Biofuels Project Manager, has been accepted into the 2009 Executive Energy Leadership Program sponsored by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The program is the state’s premier leadership program focused on educating business and government leaders about clean energy solutions that can boost the local economy.
The six-month leadership program gives executives from Colorado-based businesses, government entities, universities and economic development and non-profit organizations an in-depth look at various renewable energy technologies with an emphasis on biofuels and transportation. Briefings by technology experts, research laboratory tours and visits to field applications are part of the monthly classroom experience.
Wilcox is one of 33 participants selected from various business and government entities in Colorado. Wilcox was recently appointed by Gov. Ritter to the Colorado Aeronautical Board to represent general aviation interests, and is a member of the Colorado Pilots Association. Earlier this year, she was named to the Citizens Advisory Committee for FasTracks for the Regional Transportation District (RTD). She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law.
“NREL, located right here in Colorado, is one of our Nations’s crown jewels and the Energy Executives Leadership Program is an outstanding opportunity for community and business leaders throughout our state to learn more about the significant role NREL plays in the development of our country’s renewable energy technologies,” Wilcox said.
“We are proud that Debra was selected to represent Bye Energy in this prestigious program,” said John Brown, Bye Energy’s President. “NREL is to be commended for educating future leaders for the renewable energy industry.”
