Aviation Biofuels

Bye Energy is working to develop and commercialize certified, branded, competitively-priced bio-derived aviation fuels. The goal is to establish a high-efficiency distribution model using advanced, and appropriately scaled, "biorefinery" technologies to produce bio-derived jetfuel and bio-derived aviation gas or "avgas" to be marketed and sold to the general aviation market. Pilot programs for the distribution model will initially focus on selected general aviation airports in Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. The company will also market biofuels developed by other partners using alternative technologies and various types of biomass.

Benefits

Bye Energy-branded bio-derived aviation fuels are expected to provide significant environmental and economic value. They will reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and dependency on fossil fuels with their volatile pricing and uncertain availability. Successful implementation will promote domestic energy independence and provide a meaningful contribution toward achieving mandates described in the 2007 Energy Independence and Security Act. These mandates require that the amount of biofuels added to the nation's fuel supply be increased to 36 billion gallons by 2022, up from 4.7 billion gallons in 2007.

The Market

Even during challenging economic times, business aviation continues to be a valuable tool for maximizing productivity. Both business and general aviation represent accessible, appropriately-scaled target markets for new, green energy solutions. Bye Energy is developing clean energy solutions that will take business and general aviation in a sustainable new direction.
